Also... People don't understand that the people who created the AIG mess had already gone. The 165mm is going to the people who can unwind these trades to prevent the financial system meltdown. If you think about it, it is relatively cheap. If you don't pay them and someone else does (10 or so had already left since and got paid), they will go to the other side and bet against AIG and blow it up. You can't hire day traders or managers of Starbucks to manage this mess...it's like you or I can't defuse a homemade bomb. This outrage is just jealously. People should stop their anger on things they can't control instead, they should worry about how they can get another job to make their mortgage payment because they bought a house that they couldn't afford.
