		<description>Dave there is one problem with your example about companies. There are a few things that large companies seem to be able to lie about again and again (stock buy backs being one of them). This eventually leads to analysts ignoring their buy back announcements (which supports your post), but the company has to lie about this 2 or 3 times before analysts catch on. On that note, if a politician only lied to their voters a couple of times their voters would consider them honest.</description>

		<description>Thanks for the nod.  Janice Compton suggested I start pledging to send money to socialist groups if I don&#039;t do x,y,z; I remember reading about an alarm clock that will send money to a group you don&#039;t like every time you hit the snooze button.

I find it interesting that politics rewards exactly the kinds of skills and behaviors we try to teach our kids to avoid.  The ability to deceive people and the willingness to do evil things to get what you want are vices, not virtues.</description>
