I was ill last year with cancer (healthy now!). The effect of going through a serious illness for me is to value and view my time in a whole new way. Even though we all say it, I now have a much deeper understanding of how precious each moment is. We no longer allow the tv to drone on an on in our household, using us valuable minutes; We get out and DO the things we see on tv. I no longer dream of one day having a fulfilling career; I am now in school actively working toward that goal. Time for me is not longer a measure of where I have been - It is a measure of what I need to do to make sure I have done everything I can in this life.
